Hot Hot Hot!

We all made the big climb today, some faster than others. The star was Albert, no stops and first one up. The downhill and slurpee at the end made it all worth while. Special thanks to Julie for the cold drinks, snacks and especially the cold wet towels thank you, thank you, thank you. The others were already down the mountain when the group photo was taken. We took our time so we could enjoy every minute of it.

Okay, the big day is coming up! This Saturday we ride Palomar Mountain. You've all gotten Emails from Richard with important details. We want everyone on the team to come plus any other you can drag along. John the "HAMMER" Rader is the odds on favorite to lead us up the mountain. Hopefully Albert will be going who's just coming off a gut wrenching ride up Mt. Washington and appears to be in top form. Dean has been in hiding and may come out just for this. Richard is providing a sag wagon with drinks and carbo's. Hope to see everyone. Here is directions for the ride and stats.

Don't ride on Sundays

Me and Mary made it in to Santa Fe earlier than expected.  One ticket (86) in a 75.  The fine in New Mexico is only 63 bucks.  It was such a nice day we decided to take an easy 25 mile bike ride.  We rode out old santa fe trail rd, through the pine trees to a certain friends house.  We only made it to the driveway.  Oh and about Sundays, I took my first ever moving crash that drew blood.  I got tangled up in some railroad tracks and before I could do anything I was skidding along the pavement.  To top it off I wasn't wearing a helmet.  Let's see, a bump on my head the size of an egg, road rash on shoulder, elbow, knee, hip, and hand.  IT HURTS.  That's what I get!!!

Route 66

Todays stop was Flagstaff, Arizona on our way to New Mexico.  Cycled out old Hwy 66 and then to Walnut Creek National Monument.  Great ride through the pine trees at 6900 feet elevation. We started our ride almost 2,000 feet higher than Mt. Palomar..
